ZOMG, Gayleen Froese lives!

wordsofastory introduced me to her not-quite-filk original music several years ago (not quite filk = a lot of it is inspired by works of fiction in the true sense of 'inspired by' meaning if no one told you "this is Vince talking about Stuart," you'd never know) by way of the song Sparrows, for which I have lost none of my adoration, and we shared frustration over her apparent disappearance from the web and the difficulty of finding legal copies of her albums.

No longer, yay! There are samples of the music from all of her albums, and she's even provided a free download of the entire Sacrifice CD (on which Sparrows is located), which only increases my estimation of her rockingnessicity. Shut up it is too a word OMG.

(I have notjo over on Journalfen to thank for this info, as Gayleen is one of the writer/producers of a new SF/F audiodrama called Orphans which I've downloaded but have yet to actually listen to. I'm getting the impression from the original rec that there is slashiness, or at least coming-out themes, so if you know me, you know I'm there.)

Oh, man, awesome! Thank you so much for this link; I'd given up on ever hearing of her again.

NP! I was pretty sure there'd be other people pleased to find her again too!

Hi there, Ryan here, former webmaster of the old webpage, and still her roommate and bestest buddy. I thought I might point out to those of you who are her fans that I am hoping to have copies of her first two albums for sale on the site soon.
Also, she published a novel called Touch, which is, in my opinion, very slashy. It is however slashy with girls. You've been warned. I have been aroused. Info on how to get the book is freely available on her blog. I also discuss it, and the screenplay based upon it at Fishclock.
So, like, this is what we've been doing since we both vanished.
Nice to, you know, be back and all.

I was wondering, as it seemed girlslashy from the description, but I was doing a quickrushhomefromwork perusal and thought I might be reading more into subtext into the reviews than is actually in the novel! *puts on list, hurrah*

Well it's subtext. But it's very hot subtext in my opinion anyway.
