Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! *Loves on zyre*

Am home for Christmas. You have *no* idea how happy this makes me. Home as in, my house, with no extra funds available to rent a car and go be part of family insanity.

Family insanity is one thing, but family insanity on holidays includes my mother. Including my mother means driving, nannying, and otherwise emotionally dealing with, her and my stepfather. I can handle one -- road trip and seeing lots of family -- or the other -- dealing with mom for an extended period -- but both together just wear me out. And luckily mom has a ride up to see the rest of the family that doesn't involve me, and I can see her -- and them -- later. And hopefully separately.

Home, with my kitties and my roomie and my internet access and my local store if I want something and no driving in the snow and just relaxing.

Hope everyone else's holiday is as pleasant!

*G* yeah. It was good.

Got a surprisingly nice thing from my mom. Not just what she gave me, but that she'd gone to so much effort. It meant a lot.

And yet...I don't want to let my hopes be dashed by her again, that she might be making real progress this time.

*sighs* Sorry to be all maudlin. Too many bad family memories around this time of year; they pop up far too easily..
