Man, I suck. Um. You may consider last night's post about actor interview links to be an implicit gratuitous Spike reference. Yeah.

Unrelated to your post, but, I saw Kung Pow: Enter the Fist last night on HBO and thought of you. That movie is so bad-ong, I don't even know where to start. And Tonguey? Creepy. :P

Heeee! But it's so bad, it's good!

You have to listen to the directors' commentary to really get how totally random and insane that movie is; they completely knew what they were doing.

I'll have to rent the DVD, then. This movie has wacky-joke-references-that-my-friend-L-and-I-will-love-and-no-one-else-will-understand written all over it. I'm going to make her watch it with me.

I was totally impressed to realize, as the credits were rolling, that they blue-screened in the "modern" actors into a real Kung Fu movie. I had no idea, as I don't have enough familiarity with that genre to recognize anyone less famous than like, Jackie Chan, and thought they were just doing a really good job of nailing the "Kung Fu movie" feel. *slaps self*

No, I didn't realize when I first saw it (in the cinema) until the credits either.

The dvd has cut scenes, original dialogue (though sadly not the whole kung-fu movie, which I'd have liked to see, to see how much of the original plot was used at all) plus the original new audio, showing what the modern cast were really saying. (Their voices were dubbed too, and what they're really saying is sometimes more hilarious than the official movie dialogue.)
