I may not have slept since 7 a.m. yesterday. Possibly.

I may have been sitting at my computer all night.

Premiere may have crashed on me at least four times, and I may have had to completely reboot at least twice.

It's entirely possible that I am not to be trusted to operate heavy machinery or talk to small children right now. If ever.

Despite all this, there is a teeny, tiny snowball's chance in hell that I don't care I don't care I don't care because bouncebouncebounce I finished1 my very first BtVS songvid, which I've been working on since at least July.

bouncebouncebouncebouncebounce

bounce!

*cough* Ahem.

BtVS ensemble -- The Ballad of Rock Ridge, from Blazing Saddles. Rated "turn down your speakers if you're at work since it's the theatrical version where the the s-word flourishes unbleeped."

___

1Well, finished subject to extensive and possibly eternal tweaking and revision because a) anal, b) criticism is our friend, and c) anal. Yes, I know I said that already. Not actually posting to the BMVD yet -- I think I'll give it a good few days to let the postpostpost impatience wear off and at least another rendering after trying to clean up the credits.

Slings and arrows welcome.

Hee! Oh my god, no slings OR arrows, except as offerings to lay at your feet. Because, *dies* I loved that. It doesn't hurt that I was a huge Blazing Saddles fan and watched the movie far too much when I was little.

Because the whole concept was absolutely beautiful. And I loved how you did the credits, with the sepia sort of cast to it. And the scene selection was great. The whole vid was hysterical.

Oh, me too. I think it probably explains... much. About me.

And thankyouthankyouthankyou! I was so sure this would be a vid that people cocked their heads over and went "Erk? You are very very strange. And not in the good, naked way."

Thankyouthankyou! (*licks nearest slaveboy*)

Olaf and Willy had to be there. Had to. Kathy, on the other hand, was the final result of an exhaustive search for someone just beating the living *shit* out of someone else -- you'd be surprised how few scenes like that there are where both participants are not ostensibly on the side of good, at least as far as the vid goes. Number one contender would have been Buffy beating Spike up on several occasions, but since Spike's one of the beleaguered villagers... Or numerous scenes of Buffy and Faith beating teh crap out of... each other....

I just caught your post from Chrisleeoctaves. And I watched your video twice. Super job. You picked really appropriate images to go with the song. Your pacing was good as well. Nice change in mood/tempo with the cars turning the corner. It made me laugh out loud - I startled my cat.

Well done.

Hee! Thank you. I have startled at least one cat (and probably my own) so my work here is done.

What version windows media is it encoded in? (9 doesn't work on Macs. So I'm curious to know before I spend the time downloading.)

Great comedy vid. Love the premise and the way you handled it technically. The credits were a wonderful touch, and you really had some hilarious scene/sound combos. Just a really fun vid all-round. :)

Thank you! This is the first time I've done... pretty much anything technical done in this vid (anything even as technical as opening Premiere, really, or matching up a scene to an audio line) so it's been a *lot* of trial and error and accident and "ok, wow, I actually like that, let's keep it, can I make it do that again?" Glad it came together in an amusing way for you.

Wow, amazing job. I really love the way you matched the footage to sound effects. And some of the clip choices just killed me (Mayor and boy scouts!)

Bravo.

Thank you! Glad it worked for ya. Even though my mad vidding skillz are incredibly kindergarten-level compared to ... 3/4 of my friendslist! (The ones that don't vid at all being the exceptions. *g*) Still. Whee!
