Toy Surprise!

I need sleep, and some Pepsi. James will think those are mutually exclusive, but I could drink liquid nitrogen and still fall asleep right now. And I'm thirsty.

Yes, I have a reason to be awake at 3 a.m. It's not a good reason, but it's a reason.

I made this thing. It comes at the bottom of your crackerjack box, if you've read, or are reading, Domestic Piranhas.

It's a trivia quiz. It's shiny. I like it. It's here. Feel free to futz with it -- it's not gone up on the DP site yet, and is subject to change and/or censure by my co-wacko, when she gets the chance to play. So if you take it, and your score disappears from the highscore table to be replaced by people who scored lower than you, and you care, lemme know, and I'll try to fiddle them. Anything doesn't work right, or you want to protest one of the answers, or just bitch in general, anchors away.

Although I'll say in advance that I know the highscore table a) has no links out on it, and b) says "Top ten scores" all through the quiz even though it shows up to 50 scores. Nothing I can do about it, as far as I can tell.

I, to bed. Zum schlafen. Mit Katzen. Guten Abend/Morgen.

Fun quiz -- however it made me aware that it's been too long since I read the whole story, as I only scored 56%. Several of the questions I could narrow down to 2 answers, but sadly my luck at blind guessing lacks something.

Hey, 56% is good -- the quiz is set up in quarters -- 0-25%, 25-50%, 50-75% and 75-100%. Ain't like a test in high school, where 56% sucked big blue donkey dick. (and we said things like "big blue donkey dick," instead of "throbbing organ of love...")

Er, plus the questions are persnickety, because I wrote them, and I know all the answers. I'm wondering if I shouldn't put four or five *really* easy questions in, so that people have a better chance to get a normal, "I can increase my score by guessing" feeling out of it. But I *like* the pressie you get when you score 7 points or less. I want *somebody* to end up getting it.

I'm willing to take advice on which questions could be replaced with easier ones!

I don't think you should dumb it down any - it's plenty fun the way it is.

I did appreciate the variety of questions, although there were a couple more on the piranhas than I probably would have included. I did feel that #18. (What do bad vampires get?) was a bit tricky of you. :)

Thanks for making a quiz so fun and challenging, and actually related to fandom.

Hehhehehe... I'm not apologizing for Q.18. Nyah.

There's actually only 2 Piranha questions -- which one don't they talk about, and which one likes Bac-O's. (Unless you meant, more questions about S/X vs. the in-laws.) I did change the Bac-O's question, though, to a more obvious one. Which happens to have the same answer!

proof positive that I really *don't* want to deal with the stuff I'm ment to be doing - had to go test that out - clueless but cute is *cute* - Watched Buffy Vs Dracula last night, so doubly funny.

If the fucking thing would ever load my scores, I could comment.

I like the questions. Have no fucking clue if I like the answers because - yes, I don't remember them all to know if I got the answers right and the FUCKING THING won't load the scores.

Did I mention the website won't load my scores?

OK, it's loaded my scores. (I took it twice because -- you know, it wouldn't load my scores the first time).

28 out of thirty.

"Toothpast" should possibly be spelled right.

jbx.com also seems to be having fits today -- the whole server. At least from my end of things. I can't get any of our websites to load, including gila. Which means for me, at least, I can't test to see whether the toy surprise graphics are loading right or not.

(I'd thought that the image loading problems were being caused by the quiz background, or somebody having linked directly to the score jpgs, or something, but no. It's jbx.com.)

Now the score posting thing is the alxnet server. It's a weird pain-in-the-ass thing that, like bravenet, kind of allows you to customize things, but only if you sleuth your way through their insane, English-as-a-second-langauge design system, and figure out which moronically labeled functions will actually do what a simple html code would do on your homepage. Meh.

And is lj being weird? Or has nobody I know posted a journal entry since last night?

Feeling less grumpy now...

Can we see all the toy surprises somewhere? If jbx.com cooperates? Or should we take the test over and over...

Also, I've not noticed LJ being weird. It could be you. [looks at MP funny]

Me? (See userpic).

Yes, if jbx cooperates, you can see them here. Because, though of course I want to encourage people to take it to get their pressie, I also *don't* think we need a scoreboard full of everybody in the know just retaking it to see the piccies! (Though I think everybody should feel free to not meorise the correct answers. go reread the series, and take it again to earn a different piccie. Heh. )

I love them! I love you! I think the In-Laws one is my fav. And the 'but I clean up real good' one. And Xander and Spike. And 'but I'm cute!'

Er. Suddenly I want to write more In-Laws fic. Oo! Oo! I wanna write something from Cordy's pov on all the menagerie. Like just a day in the office, she's at her desk, and she observes the folks wandering through the hotel.

"Oh my god, Spike's wearing that green tshirt again. I *so* do not want to know what Xander did to him. Eew. Also, I have to get online and post that to the alt.naked.newts group."

How about someone fill in the blanks on Ethan and his green fluffy socks? *shudder*

Brava! I loved the quiz, but the only problem I had was that it was showing up on my mac as black type on black! I highlighted everything to make the text show (because I'm *really* geeky and *really* wanted to see the test ;) ) and took it that way. Does anyone else out there use one of those weirdo mac machines who has gotten the same result? The answer page did the same thing, BTW. The graphic was fine, but the text was invisable until you selected it all.

29 out of 30...Messed up # 18...Thought Bad Vampires always get all of the above...

Huh. I don't know what's causing it, and, unfortunately, don't have a Mac to test it out on.

I do know that there's *supposed* to be a background graphic for the whole thing, and it isn't loading for me. (It's a faded-out version of the 75-100% piccie, i.e. nekkidboyos.)

FYI - Checked it out again at work...Mac again. ..this time the bkrd was wite so the text is visable...
