In which I Abuse the O.O emoticon
Did I neglect to mention that I had a UPS note on my door on Wednesday night when I got home? And that I forgot to sign it and put it out saying they could leave the package on the porch? But I got home yesterday to find that they had left it on the porch anyway? Except it wasn't one package, it was three???? O.O

Did I did I did I did I did I huh huh huh huh huh?

O.o

3 packages, all from Amazon.com, all from different people.

o.O

journalkitten sent me the POtC DVD. O.o

wolfling sent Fighting the Forces: What's at Stake in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Which is chock full of lovely, lovely meta to eat -- I adore the essay collections like nothing else in the world of fannish merchandise. *did not skip directly to the end to read the fandom-related essays first* o.O

and thebratqueen sent me.... the SIMS Hot Date. Wheeeeee! (Hot date from TBQ. Best Present Ever? Discuss.) O.o

Heh. They're just little faces. O.O = big shocked eyes. o.O and O.o = shocked and slightly befuddled eyes.

Thank you. I feel less stupid now.

The funny thing is that I have been online in environments conducive to understanding these things for, oh, 15 years now, but things just don't seem to stay in my brain. I think there might be a leak! ;-)

Snerk. Well in all fairness, the O.o faces are weird, and not at all the expected type of internet smilies. I suspect they got co-opted from our friends in anime fandoms. Who get a leeeetle carried away with it. o___o;; (No, I have no idea what *that* emoticon actually means)

The semicolons are supposed to be an anime "sweatdrop". For those that have never watch anime or read manga, "sweatdrops" are giant drops of sweat that appear on peoples' heads during an uncomfortable/awkward/embarrassing situation.

The catch is that you read them normally, left to right, instead of turning your head on its side to read something like :-D
