Still? Over a stupid image?!

::is boggled::

Hobbitses scare me.

I think it stopped being about the image described in the main post, somewhere on the first page, when people figured out that what the girl was doing, unrelated to the original incident, was (most likely) taking copyrighted publicity pictures, opening them in photoshop, and running them through various filters to make them look sketched -- then selling prints of them as original sketches. So that's where the huge and longlasting wanki came in.

Then somewhere on page 33, someone quoted from a friends-locked post where Crystal apparently 'confessed' to the somewhat lesser (but still copyright-infringing) crime of printing out the photos and tracing them by hand, then selling prints of the 'sketches.' Then there was more wank over that as she complained about the friendslocked post being quoted, even though she (apparently; the related comments on FW have been screened now) stated in the post that she knew someone on her friendslist was leaking things to FW and suspected this would end up there. Also, photoshop users pointed out that even her 'confession' seems unlikely, as the 'traced' pictures match up to the originals even in alignment. So she would have to have printed out photos, done her 'traced and embellished' sketches on paper, then scanned the paper back in, without that paper being even minutely tilted or at an angle when placed on the scanner, for the final product to match the original so closely. (And thus it's more likely that everything was done in Photoshop, and she's still lying.)

So, there was a lot to wank about. But forty-four pages??? It's time to let go, people.

Ahhhh, okay, this makes more wanktastic sense. But I agree - forty four pages? I'm never the first one to tell people to let go of their obsessions and get a life, but now might be an appropriate time to say it.

esorlehcar is documenting the twists in her journal. It stopped being about pictures a while ago, as Poetess said, and is now about her pretending she knows hobbits personally and posting on yahoo groups sockpuppet reviews of her own work.

It's now about her terrifying/sad/nauseating delusions.

Is it just me or are her delusions reading like really bad Mary Sues?

What fascinates me about the "encounters" that Esorlehcar quotes is the language. It's so ... condescending and regal. Like she's the Queen of the Mary Sues in a way ... gracious to all her followers who aren't as fortunate to have been touched by celebrity and passion for Tolkien like she has. It's ... disturbing .... rather than amusing.

And then if you actually go read her fanfic, she can't even get punctuation right.

Well, a moterfucking retard, to be exact. Zorro spells well but her typing skills go to shit when she's pissed. ;-)

And I always thought HP was the scarriest fandom... you live and learn ;-)

I think HP and LOTR just have a bigger pool of of fans from which the crazies may emerge, not necessarily more crazy people per capita, or a higher degree of craziness. ;-)

I firmly believe Starsky and Hutch fandom has the most lunatics per capita; fortunately that fandom has a small gene pool. And they're getting old and will die out soon.

I will not tell you how hard I laughed at that for fear of being beaten to death by Starsky and Hutch fans.

Those walkers and canes are dangerous, man!

Don't worry, they can't hear you unless they crank up their hearing aids.

(I'm most amused by this because all of the S&H fans I know personally are my age or close to. But the numbers quadruple when I hit ConneXions every spring.)

Well, I've finished reading the Cliff Notes. Too busy to read the whole thing.

I am... there are really no words to describe exactly what I'm thinking.

Until it got to the "fandom_wank owns JournelFen" people. Then I got annoyed because the threads started to repeat themselves. Sigh. You non-anime people sure are weird, she said, tongue firmly in cheek.

Isn't that Jasper - the old man who got trapped in Apu's freezer and Grampa calls him 'Frostilicus'.

No, Jasper wasn't who I was thinking of...but, after Googling, I'm starting to think this character might only exist in the episodes in my brain.
