I... really have no excuse. None.

(To those who've seen it before, yes, it's a different version, redone from scratch, because the other one really didn't get the eyes right.)

Um, YUM.

*licks you and runs*

Another in the recent string of lick-and-run cases... more news at 11, Jim...

I noticed in your bio you said you liked sf/fantasy. I urge you to read robin hobb. Amazing author, that one, with some of the best characterization I've read. Terry Goodkind's pretty good, as is Lynn Flewelling and Gene Wolfe. I like Mercedes Lackey and Anne McCaffrey's earlier stuff, before she went too techy. Hated her Acorna series. Sorry if I annoyed you with the book talk, but I couldn't help myself!

I haven't read Hobb, though I've heard some good things. Goodkind I've sort of skirted rond, thought about picking up, but haven't.Flewelling and Wolfe, I love. (Though Wolfe can get a bit dreamy and existential for me at times.) Right there with you on McCaffrey and Misty Lackey -- they've both been hit by Piers Anthony Syndrome. (Repetitious, less-deep characters, plots that are too political or too technical or both, stories that are more about the world-building than about the characters, too many POV's, etc.)

No annoyance at all!

Amy was pretty hot (if painfully thin) to start with -- I just made her blue!

You know, I didn't like the original picture that much, but this. LOVE. Much with the love. 'cause Illyria's way hotter than Fred. Blue makes people hot, yo.

2004-04-30 07:30 am (UTC) (Link)

I was okay with the original pic, but Illyria is definitely hotter than Fred, so you may be onto something.

2004-04-30 04:35 am (UTC) (Link)

Heehee - love it :-) Although, hard to imagine Illyria looking that vulnerable. But you know, from the posture it's still impossible to tell if s/he's th Demon King or Queen of the world ;)

2004-04-30 07:24 am (UTC) (Link)

Although, hard to imagine Illyria looking that vulnerable. Yeah, the pose and expression choices were limited unfortunately, and while this was the least ridiculous shot, it's still more Fred (or Amy) than Illyria. I just have to imagine that inside her head she's going "Amoebas. You are all amoebas."

Ooh, just gorgeous! Well done!

I don't think enough of her would fit on an icon to showcase the nekkididitty, anyways. (Which means of course that I'm gonna have to try it...)

If we're going to discuss fantasy, have you read "A Game of Thrones" by George R.R. Martin? It's the start of a fantastic series that is one of my favorite of all time. Much more realistic than usual for that sort of thing. Very gritty with lots of good character development in the later novels. The fourth novel is due out soon and I can't wait.

2004-04-30 08:45 am (UTC) (Link)

I think it may be a bit high-fantasy for me these days. I think I read a review of the series so far...probably by coffeeandink, that seemed a bit more political intrigue and interfamilial machinations than I've got the brainpower for in recent times. (Despite having stolen his title for one of my fics. *g*) I'll check out the first one the next time I hit the bookstore, though.

Ha! I actually did a pastede on (sketch) version, too, just to keep my lern-frum-Crystalwank skills sharp. Did not upload it, however.

I agree - cake cake cake!
