This means if you ask me if you can use it, I'm going to say no, because you can't read the above line and therefore should not be operating a livejournal without corrective lenses. :)

Oh - it's so pretty. I love the swirly effect!

(That effect is called "Amy fucks around in Photoshop and says ooo, cool, I wonder what this button does?")

What does the "Amy fucks around in Photoshop and says ooo, cool, I wonder what this button does?" button look like?

It actually looks like the 'radial blur' effect, with the 'spin' option on and the amount of blur tweaked up a bit for about four frames. (So copy the original frame with the shows on it, then radial blur the copy, then copy the original again and radial blur it a bit higher, etc. In the end I have about five frames that are a little more 'spun' each time.

/me wins the poll on how long it would take James to comment asking if she can use it...

2004-05-11 03:11 pm (UTC) (Link)

Sad and heartwarming all at the same time.

I am so Whedonversed/cried out today.

Because today I re-watched "The Gift" and just cried and cried and cried. I love slash, but if I have to watch het canon relationships, I prefer Buffy/Spike angsty angsties. So it always gets me when Buffy is on the stairs about to get the weapons and Spike is all "I know you don't love me, but you treat me like a man." Waaaah.

I watched I Will Remember You and did the same thing. I'm not even a B/A shipper, but both of them get to me in that final scene together, every time. Nobody cries her heart out as good as SMG.

2004-05-13 12:57 pm (UTC) (Link)

I also cannot stop the tears during "I Will Remember You". The second they look anxiously at the clock (or even before at the beginning when the clock comes into shot), the tears start falling. DB and SMG definitely had the right chemistry to pull that off in a very emotional way. And the lighting for the episode was fantastic, really setting the mood just so.

I'm also not too into B/A, but that doesn't stop the tears at the end of "Becoming Part II" or during "I Will Remember You".

Of course my favorite crying moment is the sweet B/S spooning on the bed the night before the final "Chosen" battle.

Stealing the icon because I'm currently in mourning for both Angel (getting tapes via my wonderful tape angel) and Firefly (currently airing in the back of TV beyond known as home). Thank you!

2004-05-13 09:55 am (UTC) (Link)

I just watched all of Firefly in about 3 days, on DVD (saw about 3/4 when it aired, the rest were ones I'd missed or unaired eps) and went "Wahhhhh! That's all? Wahhhh!"

2004-05-13 12:43 pm (UTC) (Link)

I originally started watching Firefly because it was the new Joss show and I'd read a lot of good things about it. Didn't really get into it at first (because local TV insists on following whatever fucked up airing order US TV bosses have come up with rather than beginning with, oh I guess "Serenity"), but by the 5th ep or so I was already thinking "And they cancelled this midway thru season 1 - what kinda crack are they on??!!!". I hope the movie does really, really well and somebody other than Fox (or WB, cause not really feeling the love for them, either) runs with a new TV series.

2004-05-12 08:35 pm (UTC) (Link)

That is lovely. And I'm unable to stop staring at the swirly effect.

2004-05-13 09:57 am (UTC) (Link)

Thank you!

It is mah seekrit plan to hypnotise the WB execs into renewing Angel. And the masses into attending the Firefly movie. And the FOX execs into saying "Hey, this Firefly thing would make a good tv series!"

Me, I'm a thief. Muchas gracias.

Prettypretty! I'm borrowing.

I'm also borrowing your Lilah/Faith, "Slash 101: Subtext" icon that I saw on onetwomany's comment, unless you'd rather I didn't and ask me not to.

I'm not asking, 'cause I don't want to get in trouble for not reading directions :-)

2004-05-26 12:26 pm (UTC) (Link)

Snerk! Feel free on all counts.

I only get amusedly frustrated, or frustratedly amused, when people ask as a comment on the very post that says "Free for the taking, please don't bother to ask permission."

2004-05-26 12:28 pm (UTC) (Link)

Hee. I figured.

Makes me think of a scholarship contest I entered, where Rule #1 was to read all the rules. Rule #6 ended up being "The answer to Question 3 is "xyz", and "xyz" only."

Amusingly enough, Question 3 was, "Write about a time when you wished you had listened to directions." *g*
