eiviiaru, in a digression about Jossverse pairing names within this i_wank post:

To me, this entire thread sounds like a bad '70's Super Robot anime: "Quick! Dock your Spander into Xangel-01 -- the Hetatrons are rampaging through Tokyo!!"

"You must be taller than this sign to attack the city." *snerk*

Plus, you have the best icon ever!

Danke! [Even though I corrupted a Jono/Andrew line for Spike/Xander? ;-)]

Yes, that is exactly why I like it -- and I like imagining Andrew in the S7 basement mirroring S4 Xander -- both of them could stick out their butts and declare themselves moist and delicious. Why not?

The word is "appropriate", not "corrupt", eh? :-)

Personally, I want a "save the / " t-shirt!

This has long been a topic. Although I think that "Spuffy" if the WORST combo name there is.

And not just because of the content...

We should make tshirts. Put the "/" back into Slash!

Actually I probably am less annoyed by 'Spuffy' because I don't care about (fic-wise) and actively dislike (canon-wise) the content, with limited exceptions in both fic and canon.

If that makes any sense. Like, I care about 'Spander' because I actually read the pairing. Spuffy doesn't bother me. Also, because it's so widespread and has been for so long, even in non-fic settings, that I don't think of it as a pairing-smoosh, but as a Discussion-Board joke.

While I have no idea who wrote the first S/X story (and I so agree with you that when your OTP spells sex, why mess with it?) I do know that one of the first stories that brought me into the goodness that is S/X was Chocolatey Goodness. :hugs you tight: I have it all printed out and spiral-bound for ease of reading. :is a geek:

Between you, lovely Poetess, and thebratqueen, I discovered the joys of slash fic and a new world in LJ.

You've corrupted me forever. *wipes away a tear* Thank you so much!

*am so proud*

Er. I should be cackling evilly or something, right?

*cackles evi--*

*cough choke*

Nah, too early for evil laughter.

Besides, I'm the Good One, I am.

Whoa. She's so right.

I'm pleased as punch right now to be in a fandom that just uses names or initials, when it even goes to other characters, which it generally doesn't. I could only handle the word "Blim" for so long.

That's so perfect. I totally can't stand the whole smooshing of names. Cause, you know, it's called "Slash" for a reason! *g*

The next person who emails me and asks where all my Spander fic is and can't I send it to them and they'll code it omg!!!111!!!! will be smited with the smiting of much smitingness.

Seriously. To me, spander sounds like something you need when you're trying to raise that barn down there in Amish land.
