I sent my mother flowers this morning -- (Yesterday was her birthday, but due to a moment of dumbassitude, I had it in my mental calendar that my uncle's and mom's birthdays were the 17th and 18th, instead of the 16th and 17th. I knew there was a birthday yesterday but was thinking it was his, not hers) -- and just got off the phone with her; they'd already arrived. Given that she lives a couple of hours away and FTD usually laughs in your face on the subject of same-day delivery, I say woot. Go FTD. Today, you are The Good One.

Dear Camus, <3. Sincerely, Me.

"Today, Mother had her birthday. Or maybe yesterday, I don't know. I received a telegram from the asylum: 'Mother deceased. Burial tomorrow. Regards.' That doesn't mean anything. Maybe it was yesterday."

Well, that's my cryptic-and-pretentious quota for a bit.

That quote is monumentally funny (see also, creepy) for reasons of which you probably weren't aware -- my mother is schizophrenic and lives in a psychiatric nursing home. ;-)
