Serenity When? Not now, that's for sure.

Chicago is either sold out or the theater has disconnected from the movietickets.com system. The direct link to the ticket ordering form still works, but once you (or at least I) get all the way through the process, to the point of clicking to confirm purchase, it says "This theater is temporarily unavailable for online ticket sales"

Called the theater itself, and tickets are sold out; someone on browncoats is already reporting that they called movietickets.com customer service, and the online tickets are sold out as well.

*shares pain*

I can't tell if my purchase (for ruby, natch) went through or not!!

Wait, nemmind, am dork.

*concentrates power on the Chicago branch, so it has mp tickets still there*

movietickets.com is apparently experienceing technical difficulties

Did. Sold out. And someone on browncoats is already reporting that they called movietickets.com customer service and the online tickets are sold out as well.

damn I really wanted to go...sigh

The KC moviephone worked okay for me but I might have got to them early.

2005-05-09 06:07 pm (UTC) (Link)

I'd consider KC, except that there's no way we could get there in time without taking two days off work. Even with Chicago the roomie and I would have to take Friday off because there's no way we'd be able to go to work after getting home at 3 in the morning, but at least we're close enough to Chicago that we could leave work at 5 on thursday and get up there before 10. Too far from Missouri to pull that off for KC, sadly.

Poop as that would have been so damn cool to have you here.

BTW, belated Happy Birthday! I meant to do it on the day, I did.

My bad.

*g* Thanks!

2005-05-09 06:57 pm (UTC) (Link)

According to the movie site, all tickets for ALL previews are sold out :(

2005-05-09 07:39 pm (UTC) (Link)

movietickets.com is being a total asshole bitch. The Phoenix theater is sold out too, but it wouldn't tell me that on the website, just that there was some unspecified error and I'd have to call customer service.

I am never using their service again.

2005-05-09 07:54 pm (UTC) (Link)

Yeah, that's what I was getting too. I only knew for sure Chicago was sold out because someone posted on the browncoats forum that they'd called customer service for movietickets.com and been told by a live person.

2005-05-09 08:43 pm (UTC) (Link)

[hugs] That so sucks. I was rooting for you as soon as I saw the Chicago listing.

2005-05-09 09:01 pm (UTC) (Link)

Ah well - either I'll catch a preview or I'll get to see it for the first time when it premieres, hopefully in the company of other fans. *is zen*

2005-05-09 09:10 pm (UTC) (Link)

Yeah, that's why I'm going down to Philly. Hartford's a half hour closer, but I don't know anybody going to Hartford.

Hey, what're the odds of you making a T-shirt sized graphic from your icon?

2005-05-09 09:51 pm (UTC) (Link)

Fabulous! I'll have to save that on my computer when I get home. Danke!

2005-05-10 12:40 am (UTC) (Link)

I tried to track it effectively, but those sites are just impossible to navigate and rife with software errors.

2005-05-10 01:04 am (UTC) (Link)

Oh god yeah - movietickets.com is a mess.

2005-05-10 01:38 am (UTC) (Link)

It was still better than Fandango. I kept getting errors just from their database software when it tried to look up the show time.

2005-05-13 06:41 pm (UTC) (Link)

Aw hell, that means I got to get my tickets like now???

2005-05-13 06:46 pm (UTC) (Link)

Not for the show itself! It's the the special sneak previews on May 26th at various theatres around the country that are sold out. And apparently they're even going to be doing more of those before the movie officially premieres in September.

2005-05-13 11:35 pm (UTC) (Link)

2005-05-14 01:57 am (UTC) (Link)

I may be going to the May 26th show. Assuming I don't get outbid. Which I kind of hope I do, since the bid I made on the tickets was, in retrospect, insane.

Plus there's going to be more showings of the sneak preview in June, July, and August, before the movie officially opens in September. (The preview isn't the final product, I gather; some of the effects and such haven't been added yet.)

2005-05-14 04:18 am (UTC) (Link)

I think I want to wait and see the whole shebang you know?

2005-05-14 04:45 am (UTC) (Link)

Yeah, I do. I think seeing early versions is nifty, but depending on the movie it can also kill t he suspense for the final product, just the way seeing 'making of' features can sometimes be great, and sometimes steal away all the mystery.

2005-05-14 10:59 am (UTC) (Link)

Exactly. This is one of those movies I don't want to be too spoiled on beforehand.
