But the fun kind, not the huge graphic omgyoudidn'tcuttagIcutYOUbitch kind.

othercat tagged me on this one: 'List five songs that you are currently digging ... it doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words or even if they're any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist and the song in your blog along with your five songs.'

Such Great Heights ~ the Postal Service as covered by Iron and Wine
The Blower's Daughter ~ Damien Rice
White Flag ~ Dido. Shut up.
An Easy One ~ Hem
Mom's Comin' To My House ~ 3 Dead Trolls In a Baggie

'Then tag five other people to see what they're listening to.' Nuh-uh. I tag everyone.

This from journalkitten most recently: 'Whether it's "in addition to" or "instead of" the sort of entry you'd post in your lj, try posting one happy memory (without also putting in the doom and gloom "balance") and come up with one productive thing you have done in the past 24 hours. It doesn't have to be something huge -- if getting up and washing your face and brushing your teeth constitutes a big accomplishment, because you've been in a depressive funk for days, then that counts!'

Memory: Watching sarabi hyperventilate after having had her picture taken with Sylvester McCoy at Visions 95. Well, also while having her picture taken, but it was more pronounced afterwards *g* Also the shocked repetition of "I touched Brian Blessed. I fucking touched Brian Blessed."

Accomplishment: I have been wearing a red clown nose for the last half an hour and no one has noticed.

'The point is to aim for positive actions. Spread the word.'

Also from journalkitten, and this one I won't cut:

'List 5 reasons why you are a dork. And make them good reasons. Justify them. Explain them. Be loud and proud about how big of a dork you are! Then pick the 5 biggest dorks you know and have them invite them to do the meme.'

1)Every morning when I leave the house, I say to the cats, "Be good. We love you. We'll be home later. Everybody stay safe."

2)This was my bedroom wall when I was 13 only that picture was taken less than a month ago, because I never actually bothered to take the pictures down, and now the house is falling down around them. Yes, off to the left, that is a Max Headroom bumper sticker that says "Don't Say the P Word." (P = Pepsi. Max Headroom shilled for Coke.)

3) I once participated in a conversation regarding just how many timelines were created in the Back to the Future series, and whether any of the characters at the end of the third movie were actually the same characters (as in, from the original timeline) we started with. DAPOL Daleks were among the items used to represent the various characters as we sketched out the timelines on the banquet table in the state dining room at Harlaxton college. Nor is this the limit of my dorkdom, for lo, maeyan, sarabi, mr_sarabi and I recreated this conversation many years later on our back porch, using saltshakers and butter tubs.

4)I have been wearing a red clown nose for the last half an hour and no one has noticed.

5)Despite the fact that journalkitten mistyped her codes so her tags just say [Bad username in LJ tag], I know one of them is me.

I tag maeyan, sarabi, zortified, wolfling, and thebratqueen. Participation completely optional, of course. Not that your dorkdom is optional.

I do that, too. Except I also tell them to "watch the house and make sure the dogs don't get in trouble."

Does it work? *is skeptical, largelty because the 'be good' doesn't tend to work*

Judging by the state of our backyard, no, it's doesn't work. But I think that's because the cats spend most of their time pulling food out of the pantry.

He was! Though the shilling for Coca-cola was lame. And me moreso because my own loyalties lay with Pepsi, yet i poste dthe sticket anyway because OMG Max Headroom!

ok. first - major squeeage over your Some Kind of Wonderful icon!!! The best moment in the movie, I think. LOVED Eric Stoltz. whew, now that's over.

Yes. I talk to my kitties as well. The sad thing? Gandalf talks back. Yes. We carry on conversations. They usually start with "I'm hungry and I'm not coming in unless you feed me" and end with: "Put me down, you overgrown bi ped. I wish to roam free in that jungle you call a front yard."

I'm torn between that, the "The only things I care about in this goddamn world are me, my drums, and you" speech, and the bit at the end where he says "You look good wearing my future" and they walk off together. </dork>

I wore it out into the main office space today and people did in fact notice. Mostly they told me it was cute. Which was nice, though a few snarky comments about its definite appropriateness for this workplace would not have gone amiss.

Hey, I once spent almost a whole day trying to work out the Back to the Future timeline. I think our conclusion was that it can't possibly be right. It really wouldn't work. I may have to sit down and work it out again.

Oh, now i'm going to have to go and buy the films on DVD. Damn you!

:o)

Hee! I don't even have them on dvd, which makes me a sad, sad geek. I should buy them.

1)Every morning when I leave the house, I say to the cats, "Be good. We'll be home later. Everybody stay safe."

I say "Be good. Hold down the house." (g)

2)This was my bedroom wall when I was 13 o

At thirteen I had pictures of Clark Gable (I was a GWTW fanatic). Then I got into Trek, and my room became Geek Central. At 18 I still had posters from the original three Star Wars movies on my wall. They were replaced in the next couple of years though with Japanese and Modern art.

I have a few Jossverse things around, but it's much more toned down now. I'd like to say it's because I'm less dorky, but mostly it's because I'm too lazy to decorate!

1)1)Every morning when I leave the house, I say to the cats, "Be good. We love you. We'll be home later. Everybody stay safe."

I say, "Bye kids. Behave yourselves." And if it's the weekend and we're going away, "Bye kids. No wild parties... this means you Jabba." At which point she usually meows rather grumpily. hee!

Damn, we should put in the wild parties thing. Except... I don't want to give them any ideas.

Oh, man! You are Psychic! ;-D Indeed, you were a Choosen One...

We;re going to have to start a new meme - What do you say to your cats as you exit the house? I say, "Bye guys, Love ya, mean it, don't take any wooden catnip and/or Be good, have a good day, don't destroy the house."

Re: #4 I once wore bunny ears for a good hour before anyone noticed, and **I don't have a cube**! O.o

Running off to fix the damn tags now... *facepalming the whole way*

That is a *good* meme. We should do that for pets of all types. Children could be counted as long as they're mostly pre-verbal and arguably might not understand what you're saying, thus proving you pretty much as dorky as those of us who talk to cats.

There was also much Romana II and a good chunk of Ace, as they were my two major Whovian girlcrushes.
