Bitter, bitter end.
You know, unless no one gets them from these lines, and then I annoy people more by continuing to post more words. Which could in fact be a capsule summary of my journal. Also I warn you that there will probably be another one coming soon. Lyrics game, not journal.

Rules

1. Put your playlist on shuffle.
2. Post the first lines to the first 25 songs to come up (along with these instructions).
3. Have people guess the songs and artists in comments to the post.
4. Post the answers to the ones people guessed correctly. A couple of days later, post the first two lines of the ones no one got and get people to guess again.
5. Repeat, adding the next line to the unguessed songs each time, until they're all guessed/you've posted the whole song/you've gotten bored/no-one's going to get the damn thing if you don't tell them.

I ignored: instrumental, spoken word, songs that are so obscure no one would have heard them, songs that contain the whole or large parts of the title in the first line, songs by an artist already listed, and songs I've used previously in this game.
I will accept: anybody who's actually recorded the song, for artist, since you're not (usually) going to be able to tell from the lyrics which version I have.

17 is Raining in Athens. I have no idea who sings it. My mother sings those last two lines very softly to herself when she's washes dishes, or folding clothes. I don't think I've ever even heard the actual song.

Azure Ray is the artist. It's a very pretty song, kind of spacey and sad.

5) Any thought can be the beginning of a brand new tangled web you're spinning. Anyone can be your Brand New Love. Any tithe that holds can be broken, tear your bitter world to the open.
Anyone could be a brand new love.

-Sebadoh

(I'll forbear telling the story about how I went to see Folk Implosion in concert and managed to blow any chance of a conversation with Lou by telling him not to fall on his ass.)

Please do not forebear. For musician encounters are The Funnee.

Also very correct, and now I chastise about five people on my friendslist, since my copy of Brand New Love came off a soundtrack from the RPG over which half of us met/bonded/got together.
