I think this may be good TV. I will tell you more when I can make out the faces.
So I'm 1/4 of the way into the first episode of Charlie Jade, and so far my only commentary is, "Clearly the lighting director peered at seasons 3 and 4 of Angel from behind his couch, all the while shrieking, 'THE LIGHT! THE LIGHT! SINGLE BIRTHDAY CANDLE TOO BRIGHT! IT BURNS US!' "

Oh dear. At least the resolution, I hope, is good? You're bringing back memories of Danger Man tapes where McGoohan may have got away from the bad guys by punching them out, pulling a race car out of his pants, or possibly sprouting wings and flying away, for all I could tell from the fuzzy black blobs on the screen.

Ha, yes; the resolution on many of my 1st and 2nd Doctor episodes of Doctor Who is about the same, due to how bad our TV reception was at the time. Hell, I recently caught the DVD of a Tom Baker episode, even, and went, "Oh, so THAT'S the giant rat that was chasing Leela! ...It was scarier when I couldn't see it."

The resolution on the Charlie Jade ep is fine; as far as I can tell the lighting is intentional - it's set at night in a kind of Blade Runner-esque city, with green tinting.
