Uhhhh - (Buffy Season 8 Thought)
Updating my "Where my RP Xander's world took a left turn from canon" post led me to go, "Wait, what?" I'm not sure the thought hadn't niggled at me before, but apparently I let it slide until I actually had reason to poke myself (not dirty) about cause and effect.

Those of y'all who are current with BtVS Season 8 comics (actually, just up to the end of the first arc), riddle me this.

How the hell did the First Evil appear as Warren to Andrew in Season 7, if, according to Amy in the S8 comics, he didn't die when Willow flayed him?

It may have been discussed in fandom already; I haven't really been hunting down meta on the comics. Or there may have been a reference that explains it in the text itself that I missed.

Warren didn't die? o.O

What, did someone put a bandaid on him in time?

*assumes you dun mind being spoiled since you done clicked the cut*

Amy Madison, in her capacity as Official Crazyass Retcon Chick already (don't get me started on the personality shift post-rat), was watching Willow during Season 6, saw Warren had power, and saved him by making him a new 'skin' out of magic. They both survived being trapped in the Hellmouth when Sunnydale collapsed and stayed there for six months until they were rescued by the Initiative version 3.0: We're Like Them Except We Actively Hate Buffy. Warren is now walking around skinless.

Willow made him go poof. IIRC (I don't have my comics in front of me at the mo) Amy claims that she spirited him away at exactly that moment. Because of course Darth Rosenberg wouldn't be able to tell the difference between "I ground his bones to make my bread, mmm, tasty tasty death" and "Oh hey, he's gone, guess that worked!"

Wouldn't that have required any of the Scoobies to learn first aid? I mean thanks to Dawn we already know that apparently no one in town knows how to apply pressure and elevate.
