It's actually fairly uncanny.

Ooh! So cute! Hee.

I've been doing the same thing myself. Ain't it fun? ;)

All right, I'll be, um, I don't know, but I'll think of someone. *g*

I'm just bedazzled, entranced even, that someone besides myself has ever heard of Leslie Fish.

I fell into filk-ish stuff via Mercedes Lackey, and Firebird Arts&Music, who also distribute for the Fish. She really is an acquired taste, though -- sometimes I love her songs and want badly to hear someone *else* singing them, and sometimes I'm hyped on her voice, and cringing at the awkward phrasing of the song. Schizy fan, me!

I've heard her a couple of times in person, and recordings *never* suit her. Maybe the studio makes her nervous, I don't know. But on tape she sounds kind of quirky and scratchy, but in rl she has this sexy, psycho, powerhouse kind of voice that's totally different. If you get a chance, go listen. She comes down here for DragonCon most years, and no doubt other cons, too.
